A taste of today´s technology

Flying high

F

I have just climbed off a nearly 10 hour flight over six time zone changes on efficient Swiss air.  During that time, I watched four films and slept zero hours.  Things have improved significantly in air travel since I took my first flight in 1982.   On that first flight I sat next to an older woman who smoked the whole way and watched the movie on a drop down screen that was three or four rows ahead.  I had no choice as to what it was and when it was done, there was a rush for the toilet.  Now, in economy, I had power to charge my phone, a choice of umpteen entertainment options, offers of an ice-cream, a sandwich, some nuts, and two separate drinks rounds besides the two that accompanied the main meals.   Although the flight was long, these punctuations sped the passage of time enormously.

The only thing that could’ve improved the journey was travelling the same distance in a shorter time.  One day.

I buy technology. I am curious about how technology has changed, and its impact in the workplace and upon society. I also like street art. And dachshunds. Especially dachshunds.
