A taste of today´s technology

Buzzwords abound

B

I am in the process of creating a new professional biography. I have been advised to emphasise my IT and technology background more than I have in other attempts to sell my skills and experience, and to use more contemporary terms in doing so. I am told my technology vocabulary, insofar as it applies to my professional experience, is showing its age.

Naturally, I googled a little. For some inspiration. Turns out there is rather a lot of wordage out there. Oodles of the stuff. The top hits for hype and jargon when it comes to Industry 4.0, all things digital (and “digitized”) and the Future of Induatry are, as one might expect, the Consultancy firms, who are doing a roaring trade in fear, uncertainty, and doubt-mongering.

Fortunately, I am an experienced bull-fighter so I can be discerning with the jargon I will be selecting to contemporize my professional biography. But, given the sheer volume of the stuff I’m raking through, I may be some time.

Michelle

I buy technology. I am curious about how technology has changed, and its impact in the workplace and upon society. I also like street art. And dachshunds. Especially dachshunds.
